PURPOSE: To describe the process of selection members of the Board of Directors and Officers of the club.
POLICY STATEMENT:
The Nominating Committee will be composed of all past presidents who have meeting attendance of at least 50% over the previous year, the current President, President-Elect, Secretary and Treasurer. The President-Elect shall also name an at-large member. The committee will be chaired by the Immediate Past-President.
A) By September 1, the Immediate Past-President will convene the Nominating Committee and ask for suggestions for the Officers and At-Large Board Member vacancies that will occur at the end of the fiscal year.
B) By 2nd meeting in November, the Nominating Committee shall submit the suggested slate of officers and board members to the Club for first reading. Additional nominations shall be accepted from the floor.
C) The second reading will take place prior to the 1st meeting in December.
D) The general membership of the Club shall then, at the Annual Meeting on the date specified in the By-Laws, vote on the proposed slate and other nominees, if any, for Officers and Board Members. The candidates for President, President-elect, Secretary and Treasurer receiving a majority of votes shall be declared elected to their respective offices for a one-year term. The candidates for At-Large Director receiving a majority of votes shall be declared elected for a two-year term.
E) Officer and Board Member terms commence on July 1.
